Paving the Way for Higher Education

How do we help poor students who want to pursue a college degree?

There are two types of students who are often out of luck: international student pursuing education in the US and students in the developing world.

International students rarely get financial aid, and have difficulty getting college loans from US banks without adequate collateral. Those who do take out loans often graduate with unmanageable amounts of debt.

Students in the developing world also often cannot get loans or simply can’t pay for tuition.

Enter Enzi. Enzi is this new organization dedicated to offering scholarships to students; once they graduate and start their careers they repay their loans based on a percentage of their income for a fixed period of time.

Enzi finds social investors, usually a few will contribute towards the education of one student, and each will receive a dividend after the student has begun work.

The idea is genius because it does not burden students for years with debt and doesn’t leave them at the mercy of high interest rates. Often the burden obligates graduates to pursue careers in finance or other extremely profitable paths rather than their passion.

Enzi, in essence, liberates students and allows them to pursue what they love.

I highly suggest looking into them, they’re doing some really innovative work.
